生活在孤兒院的小女孩蘇菲（魯比·巴恩希爾 Ruby Barnhill 飾）總是悶悶不樂。某天的凌晨三點(diǎn)，她獨(dú)自趴在窗口守望長(zhǎng)夜，卻無意中見到一個(gè)身形巨大的巨人（馬克·里朗斯 Mark Rylance 飾）。巨人被發(fā)現(xiàn)后驚慌失措，匆忙中抓起蘇菲一路飛奔，回到了他所在的巨人國。幸運(yùn)的是這個(gè)被稱作好心眼兒的巨人人如其名，他不像其他同類一樣以“人豆子”為食，只吃水果和蔬菜，而且他還會(huì)把尋找到的美夢(mèng)送入孩子們的夢(mèng)想。這也算是對(duì)同類暴行的一種補(bǔ)償。興許是擁有共同的孤獨(dú)感和善良，小小的蘇菲和高大的好心眼兒慢慢熟絡(luò)，并彼此信任，他們成為了毫無芥蒂和隱藏的好朋友…… 本片根據(jù)著名兒童文學(xué)作家羅爾德?達(dá)爾的同名原著改編。
